The strategy will align with the energy-related aspects of the government's Industrial Strategy and Clean Growth Strategy, providing a pathway to help our region decarbonise and achieve clean economic growth. It will identify potential energy projects in the region that will achieve this agenda.
The process involves a series of workshops and 1-2-1 meetings that will enable us to gain a better understanding of the current energy landscape; to identify projects that could help the region achieve its energy and carbon goals over the coming decades; and seek local insight and advice to help create an aligned vision for the strategy.
Once complete, the strategy will form a key part of our Strategic Economic Plan and will be used to shape the way our region develops over the coming years.
It is important to us that local stakeholders are involved in this process to ensure our local energy needs are properly reflected in the strategy.
