Sustainable Transport Package - Downs Link and NCN2

Enhancement of sustainable travel facilities in West Sussex through implementation of two schemes. The smaller scheme, Downs Link which consists of a series of improvements such as surfacing works, improved crossings and installation of steps and boardwalk) on the Public Rights of Way network in West Sussex. The larger scale scheme, NCN2 cycle route, will create a direct cycle facility between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis via the A259.

Summary of Project

Downs Link:

 

The Downs Link is a 37 mile public route used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It connects the North Downs in Surrey and the South Downs in West Sussex. Important works are taking place along the route to improve surfacing, crossings, signage and accessibility to users.

 

NCN2:

 

This project will also create 4.35km of new shared use footway/cycle way along the A259, directly connecting Littlehampton and Bognor Regis.

 

Local Growth Funds are used throughout this project.
