 Summary of Project

The St James project is a scheme to refurbish and redevelop an existing industrial estate on Westhampnett Road to the East of the City Centre.  It consists of some 40 small industrial units with a total space of 3,753sqm comprising a mix of converted brick-built premises with some more modern steel framed “Terrapin” units.

Although popular, redevelopment of the site is necessary in order to improve the outdated floor space and provide more sustainable accommodation and facilities of a size and quality capable of meeting modern commercial / business needs.  The premises are basic and lack their own WC facilities, have low Energy Performance Certificate ratings, poor wiring and in some cases awkward levels where buildings have been converted.

The provision of attractive and lettable floor space provides opportunities for new start-ups and existing Chichester based companies to locate and / or expand into the new units.
