Summary of Project
Arundel Lido, is the only remaining lido in West Sussex. At present the Lido is restricted to being open only 4 months of the year. An increased interest in outdoor swimming and general health and wellbeing, has initiated a need for improvements and advancements to available activities in all areas of the country.
Local Growth Fund has contributed to the cost of an architect to proceed with the detailed investigations and design work needed to proceed with the projects planning application.
Planning Permission had been granted by the South Downs National Park Authority in June 2018, and used to make improvements to the existing facilities that will allow the pool to remain open for 6 months of the year and other facilities available all-year round.
New facilities will include a Gym, multi-purpose halls, heated indoor changing facilities and an indoor café.
The new Lido will encourage year round use and therefore increase revenue and business opportunities in the area as well as the potential health improvements of the local community.
