Summary of Project
Place St Maur and the adjacent Esplanade are important public spaces in Bognor Regis linking the seafront and town centre, however they are currently the missing masterplan link between the railway station and sea. The Bognor Regis public realm masterplan has delivered high quality improvements to the town centre; it has created positive connections between the railway station, town centre and towards the seafront, and has increased visitor numbers. The completion of this project will fulfil its potential as an attractive and welcoming space as well as the ability in future to hold larger events in the town which will create and support employment.
High-quality hard surfacing and seating, interactive water jets, lighting, improved soft landscaping and infrastructure for events will transform Place St Maur into an activated open space with a safe play environment close to the beach, encouraging visitors and families to stay longer and provide an enhanced and functional setting for events.
