Project Summary: Coast to Capital invested £2 million to support the development of Dearman’s zero-emission transport refrigeration technology, offering a clean, sustainable alternative to traditional diesel-powered systems. Based in Croydon, the innovative company is expanding rapidly and expects to create 30–40 new jobs across engineering, supply chain, and customer services.
Digital Catapult, Immersive Tech & the 5G Testbed

Project Summary: In 2015, Local Growth Funding supported the U&I development of the former Preston Barracks site in Brighton. The project included the creation of Plus X, with the ambition to help cement Brighton’s position as one of the best places in the world to be an entrepreneur and an inventor. The workspace hub will offer facilities for creative and manufacturing businesses, with access to labs, mentoring, and university links.
Queens Square, Crawley

Project Summary: Local Growth Funding supported the regeneration of Queen Square in Crawley town centre. Ricardo Hybrid Powertrain

Project Summary: Coast to Capital awarded funding to Ricardo to develop a state-of-the-art facility near Shoreham Airport for testing hybrid and electric vehicle powertrains. It helps address a national shortfall in EV drive train testing capacity, enabling the UK to retain international R&D contracts and boosting Ricardo’s global competitiveness.
Shoreham Harbour Flood Defences WHA

University of Chichester – Engineering and Digital Tech Park

Project Summary: Coast to Capital awarded funding to enable the development of the Engineering Digital and Technology Park at the University of Chichester’s Bognor Regis campus. Since opening in 2018, it has launched 30 programmes, increased female engineering students by 29%, and created over 100 workplace opportunities.
Unlocking Marketfield Way

Project Summary: The Marketfield Way (MFW) project will transform a prominent, underused site in Redhill town centre. It will provide 150 new flats, a multi-screen cinema, commercial space, and public realm improvements. LEP funding has supported enabling works, including the relocation of services, demolition, drainage, and site preparation, with construction starting in 2020.
